I clicked on recent posts this morning and - to my horror - its only showing me the past hour worth of posts.

Now, as I generally sleep for at least 4 hours a night :) this means that I can't easily see all the useful posts that's happened. While it would take me a couple of minutes to scan through the recent posts list - it would take me AGES to have to look into all the threads I'm interested in. Has this changed?

It's hard not to notice. That's the best way to navigate the site.

Any reasons why this would be done? To speed up the server perhaps?

I am getting only "Displaying Topics 1 - 25 (165 total)" which wouldn't be a problem if I could move to the next page like I can at the bottom of the individual forums.

There is nothing at the bottom that says "Displaying Page 1 of x" It just cuts off after message 25 - there is no close html tag - which makes me think it is an error [knowing Brett and his desire for good code :) I think he would have put a close html tag if he meant to do this]

Weird. This has been going on for at least two and a half hours now.

Probably a temporary glitch, maybe related to a database or code change? WebmasterWorld is unusually slow for me tonight.

Last time this happened we ended up with a date change. And we chased the active posts around for 3-4 days. Not sure we'll end up with a date change but this happens sporadically.

Persistent red balls bug. ;)

Until this gets fixed, this link will display the first 100:

[webmasterworld.com...]

100 results is better than 25 results :)

The link is nice, but I mostly use the bullets to know which threads have been updated in the up to 5 minutes between 2 clicks on the link or 2 automatic reloads of the page. I'm completely lost now :(.

I've just replied to a post and it has not shown in either my threads or recent post.

I see that as an exercise - use it to explore the board... :

Tip: You can reset the red balls from the top of the forums list... :)

Personally speaking, I brush up heavily on one section at a time (e.g. Adwords) - reading through it all. Once done though, having the recent posts allows you to quickly scan for any important updates/developments, without having to continually to go into each forum (i.e. it saves a lot of time).

Its especially useful when you wake up - as you can quickly see what the other half of the world has been up to!

- Looks like its only displaying the last 27 posts

Hmmm... like recent posts in others' profiles?

Personally, I hope they come back - maybe with the "removed" threads that someone has posted to edited out.

Any news on when the "my recent posts" in the profile will come back?

(EDIT) Ask and ye shall recieve! No sooner did I post this page, then the recent post thing came back!(/EDIT)

Now.

Will being able to view other people's post histories in their profile be restored too?

Villagers demand GoogleGuy's post history in his profile! :)

Bumpage for great justice-

No seriously, are we ever going to be able to see post histories of other users again?

bump-
I really miss this feature too. And not to just check what googleguy has posted.

Sometimes when a userposts a question I would track through recent posts to get an idea what this person was trying to accomplish to get a little mor insight to the question.

Now I have to sticky the person to get more details.

^^IAWTP.

I'm really missing it.. its a part of my daily routine (checking GG's posts)-- if I don't get to do it every day I'll start freaking out like rainman, and we wouldn't want that would we? :)

Bumpination continues on this one.

I sent a note to Marcia but didn't hear back from her regarding this issue... anyone else care to comment on whether it will be back or not?

You'll notice some other *temporary* changes too
- I want them to be *temporary* too Brett but these look permanent :(

Sorry Brett but I really miss this function, at the moment it's like going to pubcon with a blindfold on.
