why no e-mail marketing or spam forums?

seems like these forums should exist on WebmasterWorld

Sorry for posting to the google forum, but I can't figure out why there are no forums on WebmasterWorld to discuss:

A. Legitimate opt-in e-mail marketing

and perhaps

B. Spam

Certainly there must be a lot of webmasters that use legitimate html e-mail marketing to drive traffic to their sites -- why isn't there a distinct forum for this discussion?

And regarding e-mail spam -- this is a hot topic that many of us deal with. Perhaps it doesn't need to be pulled out separately from the e-mail marketing thread, but I'd love to have a place here to read people's opinions about it -- and where the lines should be drawn for pending legislation to deal with it.

Again, sorry for posting in the google forum -- it just happens to be a well-read forum.

Nonprofit, I moved the post here to our community forum. Be assured, that way you will get the best and most appropriate response.

Email marketing is indeed a hot topic - mostly because many people are extremely annoyed by that.
We have some discussions on that topic, which were mostly in the ecommerce forum.

From the demand we have seen so far I would however question that topic warrants a forum of it's own.

I think spam is well covered by other anti-spam sites, newsgroups and lists.

E-mail marketing is not a webmaster topic at all, although people have opinions on it. If a webmaster builds an opt-in form, it is in response to a marketing person's request. I agree that the ecommerce sub-forum has the bandwidth to cover it.

I have a site that uses email weekly to communicate with its subscribers. I wonder if there isn't a subset of websites that are heavily dependent on email/email newsletters for certain funcitonality that, like me, would be very interested in an email forum. Its certainly been a problem for me to figure out how to deliver to various hosts (AOL vs the world), especially on my small scale.
