Just posting this on the offchance anyone in the North of England can help. My son is just finishing the 2nd year of a 4 yr sandwich course in Computer Studies at Uni in Manchester.
He is looking for a mandatory work-related 12 months' placement in the North West before going on to finish his degree.

Thanks for the info Mike. Nottingham might be just a bit too far although they did used to say that they had the prettiest women in England there - that might be an influence...

> QED

Its a Latin three letter acronym :) Taking a wild guess at the spelling its something like this:

Quod Erat Demonstratum

It means "as has been demonstrated", I belive its often used at the end of mathamatical proof - eg

..therefore x=y

Actually, QED = Quod erat demonstrandum, meaning "which had to be demonstrated".
Just my little Italian/Latin contribution....

These were etched in my brain by a brutal geometry teacher...

QED - quod erat demonstrandum - which was to be shown

QFN - quod fieri nequit - which cannot be done

QEA - quod est absurdum - which is absurd

QEF - quod erat faciendum - which was to be done
