Another 'edited by' question... ;)

An aside to my recent question as to the [edited by...] message that gets put on recent posts, is it also right that if the post has been around for a certain length of time you don't get that option?

I'm not trying to be anally retentive, just curious :)

AFAIK there's a time limit to edit your post, maybe 2 hours or somehting like that.

Guess it's useful so that no one goes back and edits old posts and fills them choc-a-bloc with links :) that sort of thing.

//
nah it wont matter if you post after me, just depends how long after my initial post i try to edit it ;)

//
no worries Andy
hehe
that's an hour.

Hehe, thanks brotherhood_of_LAN.

If I post this quick enough you won't be able to edit your typo :)

I reckon i've got it now...

Another thing I have noticed on a forum I frequent, is that one chap continually edits his posts including the first post. When he realises hes been a tit he removes the question which then makes the rest of the topic pointless as nobody understands what the hell everybodies going on about.

When the next person comes along woth the silly question they have to repost

I could go on but you can see how irritating it could be....

Doh!

I'm getting confused with my original post on this subject where you don't get [edited by...] until someone else has posted. Dagnammit! ;)

[I must have understood this by now...?]
