The thread is useless to anyone and just spawns 100 more like it.
So, we don't do it.

It also seems that the wizard behind this web site must have a big head if he/she thinks that this site will attract all spammers
I've spent a lot of time on these boards. If you spent any time here you would also know how foolish your last statement was. The mods on this board spend a ridiculous amount of time getting rid of spammers.
Take some time and read the related posts, maybe then you will understand. If not, I'm sure there are other fourms which allow the posting of URLs.

I'm not trying to flame you, just pointing out the facts :)
I think it fair to say that many (most) web forums are plagued by spammers posting their own URLs. These days it can be as much to get the benefit of a backlink as anything else.
WebmasterWorld has gone to a deal of trouble to stop drive by spammers - I think I am correct in saying they ban hotmail and yahoo email addresses for that reason.
Most of us here have been frustrated to start with at being unable to post URLs. However....as time as gone by you realise that it is in fact a good thing. You can debate problems in the abstract, avoid flames, spams, etc.
In short, we like it ;)
That about says it all. Our policies work, and the membership at large supports and appreciates them.
