Strategies for .eu migration

how to migrate to .eu - or why not

Some of my clients now have succesfully registred .eu domains for their business. Up to now they mostly already run English and German (and ... French ...) content in their sites.

I wonder if it is clever to advice them to use the .eu-Domain in future as their main spot - what may be the best choice from a marketing perspective.

As far as Google ist concerrned, there are some disadvantages with that:
- sandbox effect
- duplicate content
- loss of serp's with old tld's

So I tend to advice them to make a new eu-entry page and some sub-pages with content different to the existing domains at the moment, and to switch later (after sandbox duration) to .eu with the full content.

Probably you have different thoughts on eu-migration strategies?
