What's the deal with QualiGO?

I just stumbled across a 3rd-tier-"search engine", and after some digging I found that their results come from QualiGO. Doing some meta-research on the web indicates that QualiGO has some spiders running around getting organic results. However their website clearly has written PPC all over.

I'm slightly at a loss here. I feel that I need to spend some EUR there because my competition does, but I can't get an indication whether it is money well spent. And if they do spidering, then there is supposed to be a free way in?

Any experiences with QualiGO?

Actually the term was brought up by ThomasB (Moderator of this forum) who cancelled my initial thread on the topic in order to not give too much exposure to these "Search Engines" and asked me to be more generic.

I thought it was well known terminology. From what I understand it's getting results from somebody who gets the resukts from somebody.

In my case it was "search engine" #*$! who got the results from reseller yyy who got the results from QualiGO.

Nevertheless, my intention was to get information on the provided service by QualiGO and it's usefulness (if any).
