.EU domain extension

What's the latest news?

Last I heard was that there might be some action on this in September. Is this still the case? Obviously I'm aware that anything to do with the EU has a tendancy to drag on for years, so my hopes aren't too high.

[eurid.org...] is the latest that i know of:

Signing of the contract should take place at the end of August or beginning of September and as soon as there is any definite news, we will announce it on this web site and alert those who have subscribe to be informed by email (this can be done via our home page)
