I'm not sure about where the thumbs come from, but [thumbshots.org...] could be the source as it's somehow related to the ODP and ODP is owned by Netscape.
Just to say : I love that. It's a really new way of navigating through the results. You can scan faster the results, you choose and clic without bad surprise.
Two sites say that it's the first time a major portal does thumbnails for each url. Seobook wrote "AOL France Launches Netscape Thumbshot Beta
Thumbshots on a major portal? AOL did it first...on Netscape France..."
Does it mean that competitors are going to follow the same way? As I know, there is nothing like that on Google Labs or on Yahoo! Why?
That's really strange.
Netscape.fr is not a very big audience, that's true. But they say also that they're going to launch it on AOL.fr. What will be the nest step? AOL.com?
