PPC in Germany

Just wanted to revisit this thread [webmasterworld.com] about the PPC market in Germany.

We discussed this in August and wanted to find out whats happened since then.

Particularly, how Espotting losing Yahoo has effected things. Espotting now seems pointless to me... terible quality of traffic.

And also, any decent second tier PPC providers that may be out there.

Seriously, itīs just Google, Overture and Espotting, no new kids on the block. Espotting is certainly losing some ground, but has some strong content partners - depends on your target audience, I guess.

What about Looksmart? Worth considering these days, or are MSN.de about to drop them too?

I havenīt figured out how to get into msn.de - the link at msn.de goes to looksmart uk, which doesnīt make that terrible much sense to me (they canīt be mixing the german and the uk index, can they?)

But I am not sure about it, may it works. I remember Heini saying something related to this a few months ago, maybe he can help.

If you do a search at msn.de these days you'll notice that on most terms only a couple of listings are found anyway in the standard search. It's unbelievable that MSN really has this non search in place for months now. Why did they kick out Allesklar if there's no replacement?
I can't help but think that this is a very poor interim solution, with some real search provider to come.
Thus I didn't buy LS listings yet for any site.

So, LS is closing down UK operations, where does that leave MSN.de submissions?

And I was wondering why I couldn't get to the submission page from MSN this weekend...

I did submit to the LS (DE) directory a few months back. Was able to get some good positions as a result on MSN.de due to the lack of competition.

Not sure how long this will last though, especially with the UK news/connection.
