Finland: New domain registration rules?

So it appears Finland has finally made the step and opened up registration for .fi domains [alltheweb.com].
Previously it was restricted to official business names, trademarks, names of organizations.
New regulation information:

Just read elsewhere that they day they opened up, 17,000 domains where registered. That's a 40% increase in registrered domains!

Still private persons are not able to register, only businesses.

Are there any limits as to how many domains a company can register?

There are no limits how many .fi domains one can register. However, there are some other rules and limitations, a few examples:

- only registered Finnish companies can register .fi domains

- domain name cannot be illegally based on a name or trademark registered by another party

- it is forbidden to apply for domain names in order to store them and to sell them to third parties

I suppose there are ways for foreign companies to register .fi domains by using local companies as "agents" and aquire locan domains through them (?)

yes, one of our customers had their local agent register their trademark.

No, a foreign company cannot aquire .fi domains. However, it can use a local agent (like us) to register the domain name, but the registrant must always be the agent, not the foreign company. They can use the domain, but they cannot own it.

We already have done this and we have checked that itīs legal.
