Lycos Slim Search

There is a new Lycos search at [suche.lycos.de...]
Could this be a Google alternative? It's fast, clear and bears no graphical ads (just text ads). Also users can store their queries as a 'menue' on the start page and play around easily with features such as color schemes. Not much more to it - just search & find. Could it be?

Hesan Daniel, welcome on board :)

You from Schweden by any chance?
Anyway, you should read a couple of good threads to get a feel for WebmasterWorld:
Newcomers Guide [webmasterworld.com] and Welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]

I took that "slim search" for a spin and I'm pretty sure that it's Fast results you're seeing there.

Nice clean search page though.

No Overture on it too. Many of the advanced search features of ATW. Nice.
Problem is however those secondary slim search pages never seem to take off. Remember AV's rage thingie?

Lycos tries to go the way back - Lycos realized that they went into a dead end street when they decided to become a portal.
The slim search is the trial to get the searchers back who went to Google when Lycos were designed unclearly. I remember that sometimes you even couldn't find the searchbox immediatly.
If they can get the searchers back from Google - I don't expect that.

Remember AV's rage thingie?
Or did you notice the textversion of Fireball [fireball.de]?
