How does Ya.com work

Where does Ya.com get it's rankings from

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know who supplies Ya.com's listing information? Is it via Google?
They only seem to accept paid for inclusion. Is there no 'free' way of getting listed?

FastAllTheWeb Logo is at the top right of the searches you do. :)

Yup, Ya.com is a T-Online property, and as such partners with Fast.
The PFI is for the directory.

They use Fast technology & database, but definitely have their own algo. It's not just geo targeting.

A site that ranks # 2 on ATW ends up at 16 at ya.com and even with a different page. The actual page that's #2 in ATW is 20th in ya.com.

Hi Heini,

Great site. I'm glad I've joined in.

Ya only seems to accept paid for listings. Is there another way in via ATW?

Harmen, ATW crawls the web for free so you should get in eventually. If you're in a hurry, go down the PFI route.
