They invite their visitors to "chercher sur l'internet francophone". What use do they have for deepcrawling a 100+ pages Danish websites?

Yes, but there's also voila.com, which is meant to search worldwide.

While we're on the subject of voila, does anyone know how their algo works? I find their results really bat relevance-wise, and at the same time, haven't been able to get my sites well-listed there (though I guess the two may go together :-)

hi,

i'm not sure at all that voila has any international ambitions anymore. I think it was a year ago that they stopped international project. Of course i mean by that the ability to search in more than 1 language, of course they still work in other french oriented countries.

Best regards

Voila still comes around every once in awhile and grabs between 50 and 100 pages or so. Don't think I've ever seen any traffic from it though. It appears to prefer pages with "fr" somehwere in the url, whether as the tld, a directory or page name along the line of index-fr.htm.

Voila.com has an immediate redirect to voila.fr

There seems to be some kind of connection with wannadoo. Perhaps the spidering is for them?
