So what would be a sound action plan for someone wanting to promote in Spain?

So we've established that it's ideal to:

1. Register a local TLD
2. Translate the site using a native

I guess the main questions at this point are:

1. Where does most of the traffic come from?
2. What databases do they use?

This is pretty simplistic, but I read through the whole thread on spanish search engines [webmasterworld.com] and don't really have a clue still.

Thanks!

My experience:

<1. Register a local TLD >

Really difficult if you're not resident in Spain. Remember that spanish language is spoken even in all South America so I bought a .com domain and I'm ranking really high
in every spanish language country.

<2. Translate the site using a native >

This is mandatory!

<1. Where does most of the traffic come from? >

Google ( regional ones )
Yahoo ( really easy to enter inside because still free )
Terra Lycos

I hope this can help you.
