Excellent. But where on earth did you get hold of that? MMXI was the first place I looked and I couldn't find any top 10 this month. MMXI shows sites rather than properties, which is better for our purposes.

Interesting about Free.fr listing high with MMXI but not with Nielsen, in spite of the fact that they use the same method. Is Free.fr part of the Lycos Network?

Bonsoir Laurent. Excellent info. YES! Traffic figures and submission tips would be absolutely great to have. We have far too little on France compared to places like Germany, Netherlands and Scandinavia so that would be wonderful.

Here some informations about the No. of categories allowed per site for each directory :

1 categorie per site :
- Francité (but it's possible to submit doorways pages :( not good for a directorie)
- sharelook
- chaloop
- lycos

1 categorie per site :
- nomade
- yahoo (regional + business)
- looksmart

Note that voila index only the home page (at this time) for the dynamic site.

With the number of categories per site it is not 1 or 2 as is implied for Yahoo France as suggested for all sites. For commercial domains maybe but loads of information sites have many listings.
Such is true of looksmart too. We should make that clarification.
