Web.de - new basic submit fee

German portal No 3 has started to charge €24 for basic submission for their directory. No inclusion guarantee, no set time schedule.

A couple of weeks ago Web.de introduced an express submit option, which is €69 per site.

Web.de strategy here is to bundle directory submission with their e-mail and sms services, which will grow to full paid content services.

Somehow this appears to be a strange tactic - it kinda mixes the interests of publishers and promoters with the interests of consumers.

Just heard that they want to charge all sites submitted since November 2001. Generously I could get it for only 12,-€/Year.
Had one site submitted on 9.1.02 - very funny!

Hello HCH - welcome to the board!

backcharging - something I don't like at all...
For some reason this policy has inconsistencies...they did not try to get me on any site so far.

I wasn't able to find the free submission ! Ok, now I know why ! So, there is no more free submission at all ?
