German top portal Web.de [web.de] today has started returning Google results for websearch.
Web.de up to now was a Fast customer. The German corporation has not yet made any announcements. Hard to imagine anyhow that this should be a temporary thing.

The Google SERPs are not shown by default. As heini says, only for websearch.
You have to use "dt. websiten" or "int. websiten".
The default is "WEB.DE Verzeichnis" - their directory.

But still VERY interesting.
Not just because I have a new site in Google but not in Fast ;)

I can find web.de-catalog-sites in google searching results, but I am wondering because I can`t see any pagerank for the web.de-cataloge.

Some body knows about it, or has an explanation?

Hey all, web.de decided to switch from FAST to Google. You can read the German information here:
[google.de...]
Or you can translate it into English:
Google machine translation [translate.google.com]

Google is really excited about our new partnership with web.de.

Hope this helps,
GoogleGuy

o.k. googleguy I will wait, till the update is in the regular results, then see if the web.de-catalog-categories earns PR.

If it so. I think web.de will get a run by german webmasters.

well not exactly. What Goetz54 is pointing to is the fact that listings in web.de directory don't get recognized by Google. Even though some of the cats have dmoz/Google directory listings they don't get any pagerank.

I would attribute that to the dynamic generation of those web.de category pages.
Example:
[dir.web.de...]

As far as I can see anyhow a web.de directory listing doesn't help any in Google.

BTW: Welcome to WebmasterWorld Goetz54!

I am happy!

Fast is more sensible to singular and plural or to capital letters.

In any case it is better to optimize for all the most search engines; portals change their search engines frequently.
