Altavista.de today announced having completely updated their index, having with listed 82 Mill. german pages the largest german index on the web.

True?

Can you confirm the update for all European countries?

Sorry, heini. Can't find any new sites in there. I've tried av.dk and av.com.
Just took them for a short spin though, maybe if I go deeper..

I noticed today that the second set of AV Main's results have jumped up a large number.

I wonder if they did an update on the global addition with country-specific DB's.

Under some targeted keywords I have been bumped down and replaced by sites from all over the globe.

.de
.jp
.fr
.se
.fi
...and more

Looks similar to what happened a few months back.

So - it appears the regional indices have been refreshed. That is: freshest results are not from April anymore but from September, perhaps beginning October.
Since then only very very few pages have made it in the index - only paid ones?
AV has earlier announced to aim at a 45-60 days refresh cycle. We will see.

I've seen a lot of paid pages drop down or disappear from their usual spots. Not just mine but others too. Will keep an eye out.

Not sure what's going on in Europe but I think it's playing a role in what's happening to the global DB.
