Looksmart abandoning continental Europe

Very quietly Looksmart went about closing down their continental presence.
Voelspriet.nl [voelspriet.nl] were the first to realize the demise of the dutch branch. At the moment only the french site is remaining. All European affairs get handled by looksmart.co.uk.

So, what does that mean?
Looksmart recently had to take some serious blows - Altavista.Europe, to whom they provide the directory, is losing users all the time.
The Tiscali portals, many of which were powered by LS now all switch to Fast.

Which brings us to the question: How important is LS in Europe? Is it still a good investment to pay for an LS listing?
