I must say Jan that you are doing outstanding work on all these European SE!
After seeing how much effort do you put in european SE and in whole WebmasterWorld I decided to try to help you a litle in this area! :)

I am not from Yugoslavia (well, not anymore)but here are few things:

I will check detailed later (actual searches ,but later since inet is expensive here in Slovenia :) and then report(also will contribute in Slovenia forum shortlly)

Sorry Jan for not using colors but i did this offline - it is cheaper :)

Pretrazivac:

-Contest of the site must (well, direct translation is "URL must have contest that has somethingto do with Yu and Srbija" )have something to do with Yugoslavia or Serbiaothervise they wont accept the site UNLESS domain ends with .yu

-It is NOT allowed the use of so called redirect addresses like come.to/, www.cbj.* .You have to submit "original" address.

- indexing will take max 7 days.

-you dont have to submit again, since their spiders will visit page every 30 days so not existing or new pages will automatically beadded to pretrazivac.com database

-submit only (not that this is MUST but they recomend this) index.htm, spider will visit and index all linked pages on your domain. They dont say if Spider takes pages only withing domain or visits external links too but my guess is it doesnt.Not sure.

-To have proper description of page they recomend using Meta Tag Description (they dont say nothing about Title)

- Meta Tag Keywords ARE NOT used for ranking ,because of possible abuse of Metatags keywords(i guess they had problems in the past)

- there can be SAME domain in the result several times.I am concluding this from they "1 result per domain" check box in the upper part of page.

-if you wish that your page is liste "INSTANTLLY" and in their "katalog" you have to visit this page: [pretrazivac.com...]

They have sponsorhip program like Google.Here are some details:

- you pay ONLY if someone clicks-so you pay-per-click not per-display

- prizes per click start at $0,01 for first place in ads. Of course if someone offers $0.02 he will be in the first place and you have top offer more to be in the first place

-you can place unlimited numbers of keywords (they dont say if with $0.01 or every word requires own purchase).They also have lots of statistic "how much to offer to be firstefficiency etc"

-this is important: their system prevent multiple click from same visitor(they track IP i guess) so if someone clicks 50 times in one day from same IP this counts only as 1 click.

- they give you $0.25 bonus right in the start, if you decide to participate to "encourage" youi too see how this works.

Great info, which went straight into the Yugoslavia overview as you can see. I was amazed to see how fast these engines responded. That is usually not the case in southeastern Europe, so I traced them. Pretrazivac is hosted in Boulder Colorado and Srpko in Amsterdam.

I was also surprised to see that their interface was in Roman letters. I thought the Cyrillic alphabeth was used in Yugoslavia. Can Serbian be written alternatively in either?

Yes rencke, Cyrillic is official alphabet in Yugoslavia but 80 % of Yugoslavian sites are made in Roman alphabet because it is easier to maintain the site and the people in Yugoslavia can read both alphbets.
