Lycos Italy directory listing

You can only waste time to submit to the Italian directory

It is in Italian: maybe you can use Babelfisf to translate.

It seems that Lycos Italy doesn't support anymore the directory submission procedure: you can submit, but you risk to waste your time.

A former italian Lycos worker reports that the italian company doesn't take care any more of the Italian directory.

From story in business paper today:

"Lycos Europe is continuing to bleed. During the first 9 months of the fiscal year 2000/2001 Lycos Europe lost 39,7 musd on sales of 86,4 musd."

Perhaps that has something to do with it? Maintaining human edited directories is expensive and during a savings drive, they would likely be the first to go. Perhaps we shall soon see OPD on Lycos pages, who knows?

Oh, well, actually they are quite hiding it :) We could therefore say: Perhaps we shall soon see ODP used and presented as the main Lycos directory again...

And being paid by Looksmart for the job they're doing? I guess most Zealots would be happy of this change, then :)
