As Angiolo pointed out, there is info on Janas in the Italy thread. It appears to be based on proprietary technology and there are indications that it will replace Fast on the World Online portals, after their merger with Tiscali-Liberty Surf. Thanks to Angiolo, we now have a list of six Janas based submit pages.

Having just checked, I have found that the former WorldOnLine portals in Sweden, Norway and Denmark are now called tiscali.se tiscali.no, tiscali.dk and that they carry Janas as their search engine, but without any submit possibillities.

I would imagine that there is only one index, so submitting to one would the same as submitting to all, OR?????

Tiscali claims to have 16 million European consumers as customers for Internet access and 500.000 companies for web hosting. Depending on how many of them actually use the Tiscali portals, Janas could be a very significant engine indeed. The advanced search features seem identical to Fast's and so are the search replies but I can find no reference to Tiscali or Janas on their corporate site at [fast.no...]

No, not at all - weīve got a lot of pages in FAST, but none of them are listed in Janas.

So, itīs a single SE with its own database?

I assume I have to figure....

We have pretty much the same Danish, Swedish, Norweigan and German pages in Janas and FAST.

I think that there is only one index.

I listed all the regional URLs as an information for regional dots.

Listing are similar to the "old" Fast: several pages from the same website.
