US search engine use in major international markets

Hmmmm... That is not the way it looks in the press releases from Media Metrix Europe. In them, AV makes it to the top 10 only in Sweden (#5) but not in UK, Germany and France. The article talks about 900.000 unique visitors per month. They have 1,3 million in Sweden, which is a tiny spot compared to the other countries mentioned. Will look some more into this.

Who the hell is goto.com? Here in Germany this is a unknown SE, and so I canīt believe the # of this article.
Yes, and the 900.000 - what does it mean? I could believe if it was DAILY not MONTHLY, because in Germany Altavista.de says it would get over 30 Mio Visits a month.

AV says they have 40 million searches performed per day worldwide, so AV Deutschland may well have 900.000 unique vissitors per month, but as you can see, that doesn't push them into the Top 10. I suspect Fireball is neck-to-neck with them somewhere in the 11-20. Some months they make it to the list, some not.
