Howdy all...

I noticed that Passagen isn't listed here. According to the info that I have, it is the most popular Swedish search engine.

One other thing... As a webmaster that has to deal with search engines in many different languages, I often have trouble determining where to submit to. BabelFish helps out sometimes, however a number of languages are not supported--Swedish for one. Would it be a good idea to include a submit url with each engine profile?

Just a thought.

Passagen is a portal and onboard is Evreka

which you will find above. It is based on Fast Search, so once you are in Fast, you are also in all the Fast partner sites including Lycos.

Re: Submit page. Good point, but BIG job. Personally, I use TopDog to submit to engines where I don't understand the language. They cover all the important ones and it saves me a lot of time too.

Spray has now closed down their Fast search and replaced it with Lycos as we expected.

It is liberysurf/tiscali ISP.
Results look a little strange so I phoned them to confirm that it was Fast. They have applied custom filtering.

And they confirmed that????? The site says Janas (logo just next to search box), which is the SE that Tiscali had before the merger with WorldOnLine and which is found on several of their sites. In fact, it appears that they are dumping Fast in favour of Janas. Are you sure they understood your question or did you talk to a marketing droid?

Very important here in Sweden i think its the battle of Evreka and google.

Evreka got a webdirectory that one is powerd by LS and have nothing to do with the serps.

Lycos
They dont bring a lot of traffic but its defently worth to be in
Powerd by Fast but their serps looks a little bit diffrent.
The first 3 result are from their own dierctory if there are matching the search quest.
And they are preffer a .se
Its free to submit lycos directory

Sunet
Is the oldest webdirectory in Sweden started riunning 1993.
There is about 45 000 human watch links in the db
A very quick directory it takes just a couple of days to get in there
They are sending you a mail if there is something wrong with the site and they dont want the site in the register )

They can bring some good traffic and its free to submit.
I dont have any numbers of yahoo. The swedish directory runs from London (iam not sure about that)

Speak for it self maybe the most important places you could put a link on.

Runs like the other msn.
LS, INK, Odp No filtering on .se anymore
Brings alot of traffic.
