there's no set time, as the editors are volunteers, and some parts of the directory are better 'staffed' than others, compared to the workload.
I'd advise wait a month or so, then search; then deicde what, if anything, to do next.
Sites that are submitted correctly (ie follow the guidelines) will often appear quicker than those that don't, as poorly submitted sites may need more work, or may need to be diverted to the correct category (at the back of the queue).
Sites in total contempt of the guidelines may never get listed. I wrote to a site recently which had had AT LEAST 50 inappropriate submissions, suggesting he make up his mind ... I know of many who have not got near 50.
And that's 50 wasted submissions; deletions are much quicker!
Do not keep on submitting, it is better to approach an editor after a couple of submissions after a couple of months and ask what the problems is. If you don't get a response from the editor of the cat move up the directory and contact the next editor. You will get a reply.
