Robozilla checked my site last night but I am not in the ODP. Is this something that happens before you are added. I know it checks for dead links and is not a spider. No mention of my site at dmoz and its been 24 hours since the visit.

If Robozilla checked you out, you are in there somewhere.

You just might have had a category change.

Robozilla job is not to look at outside STUFF.
It is too reduce link root.

[search Yahoo! for link root]

I searched for my sites name. No matches. I have never been in. Should I expect an email if I am included? Does this mean I should expect to be included shortly?

try search for domain.com type deal in ODP. I dont know if the bot goes into the unreviewed sites to check or not.

What was the IP of the Robozilla agent?

It takes a while for ODP to make a site searchable in the index - sometimes a long time lately so just because you don't come up in a search does not mean that you are not in there if you were recently added.

could the site have been listed in someone's bookmarks?

I have checked about 40 cats including regional. My site is no where to be found. I don't have the ip of the bot. I tried all searches possible and nada. Im not listed.

Maybe it was physically added after April 28th so its still not searchable :)

I haven't ever had Robozilla hit a new ODP listing as quickly as described here. When you think about it, the dmoz editor is a better link verifier than Robozilla is.

Two other (somewhat remote) possibilities:

1) If someone else had your domain name before you, the site might be listed under a seemingly-irrelevant category. (Robozilla doesn't monitor for changes in content, so if an ownership transistion is smooth enough to prevent significant downtime, it's possible nobody at the ODP will notice a site changing mission.)

2) If there's any URL in the ODP that's redirecting to your site, Robozilla will follow the redirect in order to find the true address of your site.

I got my domain name first and no redirects. I posted my question at the ODP forum. They apparently have had Robozilla problems lately, judging from the posts.

I'm also unsure if Robozilla checks the queue - I'd guess that he does.

If it's the site in your bookmarks, you are unlikely to be listed outside of regional, as the scope (currently) is fairly local.

You are also quite likely to fall under the 'under construction' rule - too many links don't, too many pages are empty.

But many editors will place such a site somewhere to monitor it .. robozilla may have found where!

Robozilla checks sites in the unreviewed queue as well as sites that are already listed. Most likely your site is still waiting to be reviewed.
