The value of a ls listing?

Hi there,

i am a google and Yahoo merchant and want to branch out to the other engines such as msn, aol,netscape and lycos. Can anyone tell me the value of a looksmart listing nowardays and what i will get from it.I am targeting the UK mainly and would welcome any ideas on getting this traffic.

The looksmart scenario is fairly dubious at this point. I'm not sure if you can still get a "directory" listing or not, but I am sure you can enter into some murky pay per click arrangement.

As far as a looksmart listing helping you on aol or netscape...it won't.

I may be biased, but I wouldn't touch L$ with a 500 million mile long barge pole. They won't be getting anywhere near to my credit card again.

For MSN, you could try Ink.

You don't need to worry about AOL anympre (see Breaking News).

For Lycos see FAST.

I noticed a 25% decrease in traffic, because my listing ran out.
I suppose it was bound to happen, as it was nearly no.1 for all my major kw's.
Just relying on Ink, is a bit hairy when, everyone of my competitors has major commitments to LS.

Hence just signed up on the new deal, purely becuase of MSN, which is my second highest traffic provider.

Obviously logs say alot, but email enquiries, say a heck of a lot to me, and when there is a decrease around, i find and fix the problem.
