Been Dropped!

Ok, heres the deal.

We rely heavily on MSN.com (not .co.uk) for our US traffic. A couple of days ago we were drop (dispite paying in Feb 2001). All the help links seem to point to irrelevant stuff on MSN or L$ Pay-per-click page.

The Question:
Have we been dropped from MSN.com because L$.com have gone pay-per-click or is there trouble at MSN.com at the minute?

Chris.

Heard that complaint from another; I'm wondering if it affects those that haven't yet switched to the "new and improved" model.

Just heard the affected sites got in via Ink; they don't really fit the picture, do they?

We didn't get in through INK. We paid direct to MSN in Feb 2001. We have not moved to pay per click on L$.com yet.

Has anyone got any contact details for MSN (preferably and telephone number, overwise an email address).

I can confirm that L$ pay per click are having an effect which has dropped us out of MSN.com (spoke to the horse myself ;))

I believe MSN listing paid for through LookSmart have been dropped. On MSN.com the listings appeared under "Web Directory" and unless you opt to do the pay-per-click option with the new LookSmart "Small Business" option (only one available) you will be dropped from the Directory...can anyone confirm my observation?

No, we have sites not on L$ and they are still found on MSN.

Chris who did you pay in Feb 2001?

If it was an Inktomi paid inclusion that is only for one year and would have expired recently.

If you paid Looksmart then it could be that you have either not activated you account, run out of clicks or both.

This has been solved. We payed L$ (through MSN) and when they went PPC we were dropped for not being willing to PPC.

Just look through some of the recent Look$mart threads here for all the details.

LookSmart switched to PPC and if your listing was not determined to be "critical to relevancy" and/or you didn't pay you probably got removed from L$/MSN and all other listings that could be attributed to the Looksmart listing.
