I recently noticed one of my web sites removed from the dmoz directory, and subsequently sent the category editor the following :

I notice that my site has been removed, and as per your guidelines at
[dmoz.org...] send you this inquiry.

I recieved a prompt response :

Your site was not removed. It seems to have stopped appearing in the directory because of some strange technical problem. I have
relisted it, and it now appears.
Thanks for bringing the problem to our attention.

Well...I was impressed with the prompt
response...but..strange technical problem??

Has anyone had this problem recently?

Yup. I picked up a similar situation recently. The reply I got from the editor indicated that several sites in the cat had been affected, but no direct mention of any tech glitches. Wonder if its a directory-wide thing, or just certain cats?

I don't know what caused it, but some sites have seemed "listed" from an editor's point of view while actually not appearing on the public side. It's been a directory-wide problem which is still not totally fixed.

Lucky you to get a response from your editor. I've been trying to get the zombies to update my url on one of my listings or even to remove it as it on a domain I let lapse and it's currently owned by a someone using it for soemthing entirely different. So much for relevancy at dmoz.
