How often does AOL usually update"

We're not ignoring you, michaelday! Honest! I'm used to seeing AOL results update around the first week of each month. I think they were late last month and it appears they also made some changes to where they're getting their data. Perhaps they won't update again 'til next month as a result.

Yeah, it seems that they have updated today, as well as Netscape.

I've seen two updates so far this month. One was one Aug. 2 and then today Aug. 9.

With these 2 last updates I am starting to see a whole lot more inktomi results on top, and less from the ODP.

Perhaps AOL is actually trying to get updated with the information they get from ODP instead of being a few months behind? No telling. I have seen two updates this month as well. Not a lot of movement of sites but the algo gets tweaked slightly each time it seems. Sites in ODP should remain constant, meaning that the descriptions and titles should not change. But it may depend on the actual page size and content as to where it will place, but I'm not sure.

Ink is back with a vengeance it seems. I see a LOT of Ink results, not necessarily relevent ones at that. The first update earlier this month was pretty lame so we'll see if they just did another to make up for it or if they intend to go back to their old schedule.

<excuse me>
when did AOL start showing 10 results on the serps? I am getting some wild traffic flux and it felt like an aol index. (My stats have been down for months.) ...but all of a sudden I am seeing 10 results.... If this is really new, maybe that could account for it.

..so I'm not sure if it is a 'reshuffle', or just an 'addition'... update? can anyone confirm?

I can't confirm but it appears to be a combination of a reshuffle and some recent updates.

The 10 results instead of 5 on the first page happened 2 days ago I believe. A nice boost in traffic from my sites that were on page 2 and now on page 1 :).

Looks like another small update this month. Not sure if it happened today or yesterday.

Yeah, mine got in yesterday, only a week after getting into dmoz - record timing for AOL!
