I have a web site made with front page 2000. Due to my lack of knowledge, it is compatible with only Internet Explorer. I realized the mistake now but making it compatible with Netscape will take fundamental design changes and need couple of days. I have already submitted to LookSmart directory and paid for it. Do you think they will reject my paid submission just becuase it's not compatible with Netscape. Their listed guidelines does not say anything about Netscape.

Thanks for any help. Also please advise what should I do if they reject the submission. Can I appeal or something?

Put your website url in your profile.... it might not be that hard to fix :)

I don't feel comfortable putting URL in open while my site is still under review. But to tell you more, I am using a small picture as a background of cells. The problem is Netscape does not allow use of a picture as background of cell. Netscape have no problem with picture as a background of a table. You can have a look at [1stsearchranking.com,...] you will get an idea what problem I am facing.

Somehow, I'm guessing this may be wrong as it doesn't logically make sense. This site:
[frontpagestuff.com...]
suggests changing yout image from a gif to a jpeg and claims that it will work with netscape. Worth a shot.

One thing to remember is netscape wont show a background in a cell unless that cell has something in it. A common solution is to place a space in it.

No they will not. Most of the editors use IE. If they do reject, you still have 30 days to request another review for inclusion.

I tried both tricks suggested by theperlyking and ggrot but unfortunately neither of these worked. Any other idea? or any quick fix of the problem before they review my site.

Thanks for your help.

I have had netscape unfriendly sites accepted to Looksmat and Yahoo paid submits . If you pay they usually play ... no matter what it looks like. ODP is a diffent story !!

Orlady is right though ... and you should head her advice.I submitted these sites on request of clients.

When you get in you can always fix it later.Looksmart doesnt spider and the chances of an editor coming back are not worth calculating.

I will happily take a look for you if you are stuck.
