Odd, no indication of when this is going to happen, mind you love the statement >GoTo reaches 56.6 million unique users, and has relationships with more than 40,000 active, paying advertisers.

After the recent hype in price, I would love to know WHAT type of a relationship they THINK they have with their advertisers and lets face it if we all increased our prices on a similar percentage we would all be looking to retire next year!

With the .05 minimum bid on GoTo, I'm hoping that most of my bread and butter won't be disturbed. We'll see...

I wonder if this will affect their biz-ex listings. I was considering it up to a couple of months ago before their traffic started dropping off sharply.

Now after the goto deal, not a chance.

I don't get it, how does this change anything? NBCi has been showing the top 8 goto listings for quite some time now. I guess this is just a long term agreement...

>change anything?

The way I read it, goto will be the first 2 of the main serp listings, not just the side "search marketplace" area.

"the first 2 of the main serp listings"

Possibly, but's it not real clear, they don't seem to limit the total number of listings. The two passages below don't seem all that different.....

"Under the agreement, NBCi's users will have access to a minimum of GoTo's top two Premium Listings."

"The current implementation on NBCi includes the top two Premium Listings, as well as an additional five search results."

Does anyone know how NBCI is marketing their site?
Default page on some computer vendor systems, TV advertisements or something else?

It will be to our advantage to closely watch how ALL of these guys are going to modify their business models during the next year to promote their businesses.

They will not be able to rely on GoTo to get them through the mess their in.

Some very BIG change has to happen here and not of the usual out of the box stuff .

If it doesn't we will be left with AOL and AOL clones all running the same PPC listings.

Even if this happens it will only take a year before everyone will be tired of the same old delivery of "....".

So if there is a genius out there please, please, now is the time to step up to bat.

>TV advertisements or something else?

I've seen quite a few ads on TV since last November. Looking at the referrals, it's obvious that they've pursued providing a co-branded search for the telecom industry and others. Here's a big one for me... [qwestportal.nbci.com]
