I'm with you on that DB, I'm ranking better when there are no results!

Oh, jeez. My site is #2 when I search on the exact title of the most popular page.

Since INK results went AWOL on AOL, I've not been keeping score. Are you guys positive there are new results? The good AOL ODP rankings we had are still in the same spots I believe.

Brett:

It sure looks like they updated, if you can call it that. Stuff has been moved around if nothing else. Most of our listings are pretty much in the same places but the top 3 or 4 have changed, some relevant and some not.

I long for the days when AOL updated about every 18 days... now it's like every month or so if we're lucky. Considering the amount of data that is added to the ODP every month I can't believe they don't take advantage of updated information that is there for the taking. Right now they look to be many weeks behind the info at DMOZ.

Yep - I can confirm that. Some results have changed quite dramatically - others have stayed static, but it is quite a big update.

Just out of curiosity - (and I thought I kept this in my records but I can't find it now)- when was the last time AOL updated before the 6/18 update? Is AOL on any kind of schedule anymore? The last update didn't move us around a whole lot but I'm looking for new information from client's sites and I haven't seen it yet.

I'd had two client sites appear not too long before that: one on roughly 6/4 following an ODP listing of 5/1... and another on 5/15 following an ODP of roughly 4/20. So, based on these two examples only, it seems to be about a month after ODP listing, and no particular time of month.

Just bumping this up. It has been well over a month since the last update which was pretty minor from what we saw. It looked like an update started about a week or so ago, on the schedule they've upheld for a bit, but the results we saw vanished about 2 days later and haven't resurfaced since. Has anyone else seen any movement at all in the past month or so?

In the past week my AOL traffic has jumped above my Google traffic. I'm sure it's from the new ODP listings, which Google has updated in their directory but not credited the links. Nice to get all the AOL traffic though :)

Okay might just be me but I'm seeing movement in some of the sites we monitor. Anyone else? Also it looks like Inktomi stuff is going in at the top on some categories. Even the ones that have ODP data in them.

I've been noticing some changes too since some time yesterday. I'm seeing A LOT of Inktomi results all the way at the top.

Looks in the main to me if your keywords are not found in a category name then AOL will serve up the Inktomi results first. I have found a couple of examples that contradict this though.

I don't really watch AOL, so I don't know if it has always worked like this.
