If a site has genuine content in multiple languages, it may be considered for listing in each language category under World. Submitting to each appropriate language is ENCOURAGED; it will not look like spam from any direction. (But there needs to be content. "Slobbovian language version under construction" is NOT yet content.
ODP only provides one database. (well, there's a separate file that contains only the Kids&Teens sites) Any user can filter it however they want. (I've heard that some foreigners only host the part of Regional for their own country, with only domain names from their registrar in the non-Regional categories.)
The rule is: one site, one listing. Multiple listings are exceptional cases. (There are, however, a number of standard exceptions: such as, a business that sells stuff to walkin visitors and also sells stuff by e-mail could be considered for listed in both Shopping/... and Regional/.../Localities/... And a museum could be listed in both Reference/Museums/... and Regional/.../Localities/...)
What we generally DON'T make exceptions for is sites selling dogs, cats, and gerbils being listed under Shopping/Pets/Dogs, Shopping/Pets/Cats, and ... etc. When a site is listed multiple times, it will generally be in categories that are totally unrelated (such as in different top-level categories.)
No, but you _can_ post it in other _languages_ under World.
Example:
French/English/Catalan Encyclopedia site could be listed under:
Reference/Encyclopedias (English)
World/Francais/... (don't know exactly where because I don't speak French)
World/Catala/... (don't know exactly where...)
That is, Arts is the "English" equivalent of World/Svensk/Kunst.
Yes, if you have both English and Swedish content, please DO submit the site to an appropriate subcategory of on of the English categories (Arts,Business,Computers, etc.); and also submit to an appropriate subcategory of World/Svensk.
When you do this, use an English-language title and description for the English-language category, and a Swedish-language title and description for the Swedish-language category.
