NBCi Will Struggle to Overcome Late Start [digitrends.net]

"I think it's too late, unless they have some major product innovation,'' says Allen Adamson, a managing director at Landor Associates, a New York-based marketing firm. ``NBC has value in the world of entertainment. I don't know if it has value in the Internet world."

NBCI offers a software download from their site that allows many words displayed on your browser to have a virtual hyperlink to a source of more information.

This might become popular because I saw NBCI running a big ad blitz on this free download on television last night.

Has anyone looked at this thing close enough to tell if they are running the keywords against an existing search engine or directory, or is this something entirely new?

I saw that advertised as well, but when I go to the site, I can't figure out how to make it work.
