How Long Will The Honeymoon Last?

I just did my first ever paid submission for a client to Look$mart. She is now the queen of MSN thanks, in part, to the wonderfully crafted description her incredibly talented webmaster wrote.

My question is can we expect this to last or is there a period of glory followed by the usual drudgery of everyday life.

>queen of MSN

So far, it's been holding up very well. I have some freebies in there that produce darn good traffic from MSN. Now go sandbag your listing by paying INK to spider your site.

I have yet to pay for submission at Looksmart, so I can't help you with that, sorry.

I just had to respond to-

Hee hee, that is so good. I ,too, am in awe of myself at times over my exquisite writing skills.

Where does one go to offer to Inktomi? I've been to www.inktomi.com a couple of times and all i see is search products for web sites.

glauber, for the paid spidering try
[inktomi.com...]

I'm not sure where the best free submit is, it used to be anzwers.com and canada.com

canada.com is still my top choice for hitting INK. I get a crawl on every submission - rankings are a different story though ;)

Would it be better to pay for LookSmart listings and then let Ink spider your site (if it already is) for free?

>would it be better

There's been some discussion that free submits are penalized in INK, so if it's a small site I'd recommend paying for both LS and INK.

Agreeing with rcjordan.

I understand that free submits are penalized if the page has no inbound links to it. When an inbound link shows up, the penalty is lifted.

It seems that it is always better to get a listing in Looksmart first, then let the Ink spider found the site via Looksmart.

Ink likes pages it finds on its own. You get in free and you get in with no immediate penalty.

Does take longer though.
