hello.. i'm just a newbie here.... i just wanna ask if when submitting to directories, do you have to submit all the pages on your website? or just the index page?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld majofly!

Generally most directories just take the homepage but the MSN directory ( [sbd.bcentral.com...] ) for example will take additional pages and some other may as well.

If you have a non-commercial site, for example, the Zeal directory will often take multiple pages.

Without permission from Google, sure, but since Google don't own the description copyrights that's pretty much irrelevant.

The underlying data in the Google Directory comes from the Open Directory Project, and if you use any of the descriptions you need to provide attribution and links for add url/become an editor back to the ODP (see www.dmoz.org/license.html )

Note that if you use the url's and write new descriptions for every url the attribution is not required. (Use even one and you need to follow the license).

Copying the data structure is also not permitted without attribution, but in practical terms it's a tougher call. You'd need to have a fairly deep or unique set of categories for the structure to be identifiable.

By the way those google ads posing as 'submit url' links are going to make anyone looking at the 'directory' real annoyed real fast.
