How Difficult is it to get Yahoo Directory to Change the Description?

How easy is it to get your directory listing changed in Yahoo?

And secondly, I paid to get in a long time ago - and I'm still there. Would I be elibagle for removeable from the directory because i've not paid in years?

Should I highlight this fact?

We've had good experiences getting old listings changed, however it was with a large company that has many (sites for) different segements. In addition to 5-10 listings that are grandfathered in free, they also have an account with at least as many paying the recurring annual fee.

I recently changed one that's always been paid, took them less than a week. I also changed my Y! Local and they did that in a few days. Wish I could pay DMOZ $300/year for the same service.

Has anyone ever been removed from the index after a few years free exposure?

I'd like to change my desription but not at the risk of being deleted altogether from the index.

As long as it is still relevant, they are not likely to remove it.

Depend on the budget but some clients spend well in excess of 1M a year in online advertisng so $299.00 is very inexpensive compared to lots of other placements and there is value in the listing.

I still have commercial sites that have been 'grandfathered' free for years. However, I wouldn't ask for a title change unless I were ready to pay up.

If all you're going for is better anchor text, then IMO it's not worth it, and you might not get the anchor you want anyway. If you're looking for a title/desc that perhaps converts better in the Y! SERPS, then it's probably worth risking $300/yr.
