I found that category while searching on Google.

Does any know what is its purpose?
It seems like all editors have a subcategory here

Is this only an online collection of each editor bookmarks?

Right. Every editor is assigned a category he can store links in for personal use. This idea dates back to the time when the ODP basically was a group of people who thought "Gosh, I am collecting lots of links. It could be usefull to collect them online, so I and everybody else can access them from wherever all over the world". Apparently, additionally to the links they collected in categories, it was considered usefull to have a place to collect "personal" links.

Check [inelegant.org...] for further information.

Good :)

Now I wish I could find what my site is doing there :)

I was listed in DMOZ for a month, then the site has been taken down - now I found my site in the Category editor bookmarks under a folder named Down

In general the name proposes that my site must have been down while the editor visitied it - as most of the sites in that cateory are really not working at all

I hope that's the case and that the editor will revise at some time in the future his bookmarks and see that my site is actually up and running :) and put it back where it was. Who knows :)

Or if you think in evil context - Down stands for "Sites to keep down" :)

Anyway thank you for your information.

"Not working" sounds reasonable. You could try to send a short and friendly feedback to the editor in question pointing out that your site (include the category it is in now, the URL and the title it is listed with) is working again. I know that I would like a feedback like this (If it does not try to get new keywords, sneak in something spammy or try some other tricks of course.).
