What directory scripts produce static html pages?

Can't seem to find any

I would like a script that will generate a static html directory.

Basically a database of sites with a script that uses a template system to generate the html directory pages on a predefined schedule or on demand. Anything like that around?

Hey thanks, I had looked at gossamer previously but I missed the part about it being able to product static-html pages. I sure wish 2.0 would do that though, $450 is a pretty hefty price. Know of any a little less expensive? Ideally <$200.

Thanks

PowerSeek or TurboSeek from Focal Media will both produce static pages. Both the best in their class IMHO.

Gossamer Threads GLinks will produce static pages and I think the script is well worth $450. They support is great as well.

Thank you Contractor, I have not seen those before and TurboSeek will work just fine for what I'm planning.

Thank you for your suggestions as well Nalavanje. I agree about Gossamer being a very good script and in the future I will probably end up with a few licenses but right now I need to keep to a budget while I'm experimenting and all I need is a basic directory system that uses templates and spits out static html.

No problem. If you need any tips on using either of those let me know.

Hi Fribs

Links 2.0 will produce static pages as well. It's fine as long as your directory isn't going to get too big.

As davec said, Links 2.0 will also do it - it's a template modification that you need to do in the links.html template, just remove the reference to jump.cgi and use the straight <%URL%> value instead for the link.

Thanks for all the help folks, It's good to know links 2.0 will do what I wish - I've heard good things about both scripts.

That is the part that tracks outbound click on links. It does not make the actual page static. The directory pages are already static because the script writes to .html files.
