Signed up and tried it out. Not bad.

This could be a good boost for the Skaffe folks should this go over well.

What makes this better than Gmail? With Gmail I assume it isn't going anywhere as I don't expect Google to go bust. And with Gmail unless they goofed with my account I have even more than 1 GB available.

I don't know if anyone said it was better, it is different though. I prefer not having emails threaded, but each person is different. Skaffe offers a Calendar, external mail download, etc.
And, you don't have to be invited to sign up like Gmail is. 200 MB attachments compared to Google's 10 isn't bad either. I like to root for the little guy though. I was saddened to see G go IPO.
I've only just tried it, so I'll have to test it further.

I quite like skaffe, but like Gimpsy - needs to grow a lot more, before I'll use them. Just plonking up an email service, won't make me switch elsewhere.
