Is Google Directory Business and Economy something we pay to go in? I came across this by accident and wonder why not one firm comes up under my keyterm search, though a long list of advertisers do in the right hand column. (see link below)

Also, i know there are methods to find out what keywords are being used for particular searches, but is there a way to localise this to say, a state in australia?

The Google Directory is nothing but DMOZ dressed up in different clothes.

Your search term returns many listings if you search the entire directory. In short, you are looking in the wrong category.

Google directory search is a very useful tool -- but, I believe, not heavily used. Like any complex tool, it takes some practice to know how to use it, and some experience to know when to use it. Few people bother.
