What's your take on paying to get included in the directories and/or search engines? What benefits are there in doing that?

I would say if you spend over $5000 a month on PPC, spend 500 a month on links/directories.

I usually spend a couple grand on directory submissions. helps a bit in Google and helps a lot more in MSN and Yahoo!

I think it has already been said, "How much and what do you get?".

Generally, the best links are not free. A question you might ask yourself is how much time do you spend trying to develope 50 pr2 links? How much time do you spend getting a link from a high search engine placed listing?

If you can buy a high PR, top five results page listing cheap, then stop wasting your time and buy it.
