I was recently going through a "search engines and directory" listing and I was quite surprised by a directory offering free listing with a PR 5 in sub-categories such as "Computer and Internet". Not only that but you will also be listed in a local category with a PR of about 2-3. Not bad for something free without the hassle of sawping links when you know that most directories charge money and don't have PR in sub-categories. Check it out at [elib.org...] ;)

I didn't read it that way. There is more than a hint that linking back will increase the chances of being listed.

yes- I agree.

They say that linking is not necessary - BUT, if you do it will increase the chances of being listed.

It's a link exchange swap thing isn't it. I hate sites like this. But the link may prove useful.

Also, I noticed that they more or less expect you to put them in a visible place (home page was mentioned)

So where's my site going to be put?

Deep within their site somewhere I suppose!

True, I guess I filled out too many applications that day! lol

Sorry about that. I guess we can remove this thread.

they also have a paid submission for 50 euro, which is not a ton of money.

one thing to note is that they get significant link popularity from being listed on the Virtual Library home page
[vlib.org...]

that may perhaps eventually change though since their site is not linking back to the Vlib displaying the Vlib book logo thingie.
