Resubmit to another category

Editor not here but ok in other category? Dont they...

An ODP editor told me the site I submited 3 months ago it's ok but doesn't qualify for that category. Invited me to submit to a similar one (he mentioned the category name)

I thought editors would move the site to the appropiate place if they find the site ok but belonging to another category? Dont do they such a thing?

Should I resubmit to the new suggested category?
I mean that is starting again and being last in the queue am I right?

Any experiences or suggestions please?

Editors SHOULD move a website to a more appropriate category if it doesn't fit where it was submitted, and if it seems like it might fit SOMEWHERE. It doesn't always happen. When it doesn't, we call it a mistake: we gently tell the editor about the Test/Misplaced bin.

If an editor suggested I submit a site, I'd do it. You want the site listed, right?

Yes, it would be starting over. No, there's no queue to go to the back of -- just a heap of disorganized submittals. There's a separate heap for each category, so the same thing would have happened if the editor had moved your submittal: either way, it would now be churning around in a different heap.

Resubmitting will not put you in any worse position than if the editor had forwarded the submission there for you.

However, if you really were told that the site is better listed elsewhere, then it sounds like the editor should have forwarded it rather than deleting it.

Having been an editor and seen first hand what goes on, you should re-submit.
