I just checked dmoz for the first time in months. My site has been removed. How could this happen? I waited 4 months to the site listed. Easy come easy go I guess.

General reasons (not knowing the site):
- Site not available for several days (or at least when ourt linkchecker arrived who does several subsequent crawls)
- A re-review showed that the site belongs somewhere else (so it was moved) or does not belong in the ODP at all (so it was deleted)
- Listed by accident (The amount of buttons can sometimes be so confusing...)

Listed by a junior editor who didn't know the ropes, then reviewed by a senior editor who deleted it as being unacceptable, or moved to a better category where it's waiting for re-review.

Other maybes: it was never in ODP - I've seen many people post about sites disappearing from ODP, when the logs show the sites were never reviewed or published there.

It's still in ODP, but moved to another category, and the search thingy does not find it. (Especially this week when search is failing)

If a site is removed by mistake it's usually a quick re-add. Just ask in their forum.
