Our site got listed in DMOZ 7 days ago (it is not showing up in the search yet).
4 days ago I noticed that little book icon in Google toolbar turned from gray to yellow.
The site is showing up in Google directory search with a path to the category.
When I go to the category the site is not listed there.
Is this normal?

Google is updating their servers only every now and then. Last time it took about 6 months until they had everthing set.

Why is than Google toolbar book green and it is pointing to the right category?
Why the site is showing up in Google directory search and it is pointing to the right directory?

Why is Google updating the Directory incrementally?

Maybe so it can get a bunch of threads on webmasterworld.

Who knows... the HTML pages will update when they update.

As far as I know, they have a lot of different servers for different purposes. Several of them using ODP data, either for the direcvtory or as feed for search data. Why they choose just to update some of them - I don't know, and most likely noone but the Google Guy does.

Maybe different departments, maybe technical issues, maybe bandwidth problems, maybe the rumours that they want to drop the ODP completely are true, or maybe something I just can't think of.

The different parts seem to be updated at different times, sometimes months apart: the actual categories, the links pointing to categories, and so on.
