You have received a new Express Submit site order:

Order total: $199.00

Express Submit for internal use only: you will not be able to access this if you are not a Looksmart employee.

From this it appears their reviewer received the submission without a category suggestion...
Is this standard procedure now, should I perhaps have pressed the "submit a site" link at the bottom of the page and not the one near the category name, or what?
The editor will put your site in the category he/she believes is most relevant. He/she will also give you the description.
What you type in the box for a description is acting as a guide for the editor.
When I submit a site, I just go to Looksmart.com and immediately click the "submit a site" link on the front page.
I paid to submit at least 10 sites to LS before I realized just that. Out of those 10, only 1 was added to the site I suggested it to. Given the fact that their directory confuses me, that was fine with me.
>He/she will also give you the description.
I have also given up trying to suggest descriptions to them. What I use that field for is to mention anything that might be important and that they might overlook.
Example: "This site offers a free massage with each order." Or something along that line. :)
I also might "suggest" a category...but they end up putting the site where they want it.
That box is purely a guide for the editor.
Actually, it all makes it much easier when submitting as all the work is left up to the editor. With Yahoo, you best do everything correctly.... good description, right category, etc.
I've had pretty good luck in getting them to chagne the description after it had been accepted. It seems they want to leave the keywords out, so a nice friendly "thank you" and "by the way" letter seems to work well.
I believe that you have 30 days after acceptance for them to change the description.
