Website doesn't fit into a DMOZ category

How do I get it in DMOZ?

I have been trying and trying to get my hobby site into DMOZ. The problem is, there isn't a category for it. Trust me, I looked and I have submited several times under categories that might almost work. No luck.

I took a look at how other sites similar to mine have gotten listed, and in every case, they are listed under individual pages on their site. As in, their site is called abouteverythingunderthesun.com but they are listed in DMOZ under abouteverythingunderthesun.com/widget/how-to-make-widgets.htm in the "business" category under "making widgets". I thought this was not allowed. Am I wrong?

Either way, how do I get my site into DMOZ under these conditions?

As far as the deep link you spotted, such linking is not encouraged although seems to be OK for some large and/or authoritative sites. The individual editor can determine whether a page is worthy of inclusion in his/her category as a useful resource. You can try checking at r-z for help from editors with your specifics.

How do you know that site is not still waiting to be reviewed? I just took over a new cat last week and have sites that have been waiting for well over a year!

Ask at resource - zone and see if they can tell you what is the best course of action.
